Walmart and its foundation recently donated $2,500 in grants to the Richland Police Department Foundation.
This $2,500 grant will make a big impact in our community and will go to help fund Cops and Kids, where police officers take children in our community over the holidays and help them do shopping for their family.
“A lot of people don’t know the police go above and beyond their regular call of duty,” said Monica Malhan, Richland Police Foundation vice president. “They will help citizens in distress, pay for diapers, pay for gas, pay to help citizens out of their own pocket and we’re trying to help them help our community.”
“By providing the funds to the foundation, we have a little more freedom to provide the police department with what we think is best and in a more timely and efficient manner,” Karen Buchanan
The Richland Police Department Foundation’s mission is to make Richland a better, safer, more comfortable place for everyone to live. You can help too by donating your time through volunteer work or your monetary contribution will go right back into our amazing community!
